English Setters are gentle pets that are wonderful with children. English Setters are calm indoors but need a large fenced yard in which to roam and play. This breed can be difficult to housebreak, and likes to bark. English Setters are great with other dogs, and enjoy plenty of human and canine companionship.

English Setters are sometimes called Laverack Setters after their original breeder. English Setters come in several colorings and some are tri-color. There are two different varieties of English Setters, the field variety and the show variety.
