     Dear Jeff, My husband and I are the lucky people who adopted Freckles. We left our daughters house after Christmas and drove to North Carolina to pick up Bird (her new name). Thank you so much for your web site. It was so easy to stay updated on the latest dogs needing homes. I have been looking on Rescue Me! for about a year. We lost our last English Setter two years ago and weren't sure if we would replace her. The ache in our hearts was too strong and when I saw Freckles on your site, I knew I had to act fast. We use to show setters and breed them. I didn't want to buy one, I wanted to rescue one and that's what SHE did, she rescued us. She is getting housebroken; she has learned how to heal on a leash, take her treats to her bed to eat and we are working on her getting her leash to bring to us for her walks. And she sleeps in our bed every night. Walking her, getting her kisses and playing with her... PRICELESS! Thank you ever so much, Dian Aulridge

     We have tried finding our English Setter a home for over seven months. Within just a couple of weeks of posting Noel on this site, we received several interested families and she is now placed in a wonderful home!

     I have a very interesting success story! I had never heard of Rescue Me! before, but found the site while frantically trying to find my dog Alice a new home. She is a great dog, but my 3-year-old daughter had startled her (Alice is deaf) and she bit my daughter. The day after I posted her, I received an email from a woman who had a deaf English setter and wanted Alice badly. However, she had an Australian cattle dog who was not getting along with her setter. Long story short, after many conversations and many tears, we decided to trade dogs. Alice found a loving home with a family who knows deaf dogs well, and I am now the proud mama to an Australian cattle dog named Gina. It could not have worked out better. Thank you Rescue Me!

     I've been trying to find Mable a home for a long time. It was hard because not very many people are willing to give the time it takes to work with a deaf dog. This sight helped me find her a loving home, with people who love her and take her everywhere with them. I have told others about this site and other people looking for a pet to rescue. Thank you Rescue Me for getting her a loving home so quick .

     We received several inquiries via Rescue Me, one of which was from a nice couple who have a five month female English Setter and recently lost their seven year old male, who died suddenly with an aneurism. So they were eager to find a replacement and companion for their puppy and a good bird dog to hunt with - which they did by adopting Boo.

     Jeff, Rescue Me has been great. We now have used the organization twice. We got Tess (purebred mutt) and Buck (English Setter) through the organization. My experience has been positive if not heartbreaking. Tess was close to being euthanized because no one wanted to adopt her. Both dogs had been severely beaten by previous owners. Buck's previous owner spoke on the state Buck was in when he brought him home. It was sad. His old owner did a great job rehabilitating him but 12 hour work days and living in town was not healthy for a setter. It's sad because people want a dog because it's 'cute' and then realize that they are in way over their heads once the pup gets home. I am fortunate that we have a 120 acre playground that Tess and Buck both enjoy and living at the lake they get plenty of water time in the summer. They definitely are loving life now. I wish more pet owners realize the damage they are doing with their animals and change the circumstances. Or even better, researching a dog before rescuing. Jeff

     Bailey was adopted and we took him to his new home today. We have had a very hard time with not having him here but we have no option. He is with a loving family that loves dogs and she is going to keep me posted on all his new life experiences. Rescue Me was very helpful. Within one day of Bailey's posting I had a phone call (two while his posting was up). It is great to have an organization that helps find homes for good Setters.      Hi Jeff, I just want to say you have a great web site. I reluctantly posted my English Setter hoping to find a loving home for him. My family is going through some very tough changes and Bandit is not getting the attention he needs and is taking on the emotions. Immediately after posting on your site, I received a phone call from a family looking for everything I described Bandit as being. My eyes swelled up and I got a lump in my throat. I spoke with my wife who had the same emotions as I. I called the family back and explained that emotionally we weren't as far along as we thought. She totally understood and even offered to take Bandit for a period of time until our lives settle down. She too had gone through similar situations in the past and was very empathetic.      Jeff: I can't thank you enough for having a part in this site. I was at the brink of insanity with my (old) dog. He was such a nice dog, but had issues with separation anxiety. The next day I had him adopted to a fantastic home. The last thing i wanted to do was leave him at a shelter and not know what happened to him. Now he's gone and it is sad, but he is in a better place with a more qualified owner. Although I will not be replacing him anytime soon, I will refer anyone looking for a dog to your site.
