We first posted this adorable teddy bear-looking guy with his life-long companion Snickers. We had just received them into our program and wanted to make sure they were on everyone's radar. Sadly, Snickers' health is rapidly declining with some worrisome lumps and a heartworm positive diagnosis. She will rest comfortably in her hospice forever foster home for her remaining time with us. Spec, on the other hand, is like a new and improved puppy. So, let's give him a proper introduction. Meet Spec. Although his look and his behavior is very puppy-like, this guy is 11 years old. Can you believe it? Watch him run around the yard and hop over ... (Read More)little garden structures and your jaw will drop. He is spry, spunky, and loving life. Spec is a real doll and his smile means the world to us. Spec cam from a long history of neglect and bouncing around with in the family. We can't wait to find him a great retirement home! Spec is a mixed breed guy, maybe English setter/beagle who weighs about 35 pounds. He is awesome with other dogs. He is a sweet caregiver and likes likes to groom them when he isn't running around with them. He seems to get along with everyone even some dogs who don't always love other dogs. He is also fine with cats. We don't recommend him with chickens, though. How do you think we snapped a picture with such a big smile? ;) (No chickens were injured in the making of this post.) Spec is also fine with children. Of course we prefer to see seniors go to homes with calm, gentle kids. Spec is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and heartworm negative. He is solidly housebroken, but does best with a doggy door to a securely fenced yard when no one is home. He likes to run out, do his business and come right back in. He would also prefer not to be crated, which is fine since he is trustworthy when left alone in the home. If you would like to meet Spec please complete an adoption application on our website at www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting. This is the first step of the adoption process. Spec's adoption fee is $125. (Less)
